With a rare combination of a Juris Doctor, a Ph.D. in Social and Cultural Anthropology, and a Master of Public Administration, she approaches every case with deep insight into how law intersects with people’s lived realities, families, communities, and systems.

A native of Oakland, California, Destiny Thomas is an Atlanta-based attorney, anthropologist, and public administrator. She holds a J.D. from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, a Ph.D. in Social and Cultural Anthropology, an MPA, and a B.A. in Political Science. Before practicing law, she founded Thrivance Group, an urban planning company dedicated to equity in public systems and land use.
